● Local impact

What the unit changes on the East Coast

The unit was born from the decentralised cooperation between the Atsinanana and Normandy regions, within the AgriCoop project. The five RCCE cooperatives carried it together.

“The aim is to improve production quality in order to increase the added value of the products and improve farmers' incomes.”

The RCCE president, at the foundation stone ceremony, October 2022

The value stays in the region

Spices are prepared close to the plots instead of leaving raw. The processing work creates jobs locally.

Better quality, better prices

Clean, disinfected and well-packaged batches sell better. The gain goes back to the producers.

A tool shared by the cooperatives

No cooperative could equip itself alone. Together, they have a unit that meets export requirements.
